Hiring through a patent and acquaintances needs no resume, but on hh and in direct contact with an employer you cannot do without one.

Working in Russia as an Uzbek citizen: when a resume matters and how to write it
A resume is not a mandatory document for Uzbek citizens going to work in Russia: when you are hired through a patent and personal contacts, nobody asks for one.
- Format: hh.ru format
- Language: Russian, English
- PDF and Word
In short
The Russian format is the hh style: citizenship, patent or permit, willingness to relocate, desired position and salary, schedule, key skills - all in Russian.
Organised recruitment (trudvsem.ru) goes only through the Migration Agency and without a resume; never pay anyone «for a place».
Do you need a resume?

Organised recruitment (trudvsem.ru)

It becomes decisive when you contact an employer directly or create a profile on hh, where citizenship and work permit are required fields. This page explains in which hiring channel a resume is needed, the rules of the hh-style format, the documents for a work patent and a ready sample in Russian. Resum.uz is a document preparation tool: we do not find jobs, we only format your resume the Russian way.
What a resume for Russia looks like: the hh style
Employers in Russia are used to reading resumes in the layout printed by the hh job site: name and date of birth at the top, then a line «citizenship · work permit · willingness to relocate», a block «desired position and salary», work experience with total length of service, education, key skills as tags, languages and «about me». For a foreign candidate the most important lines are citizenship and patent: on hh they are required profile fields, and an employer who opens your resume looks at these two lines first.
Compared with a typical resume from Uzbekistan, the Russian format differs in three ways: salary and schedule are a separate block, each job shows how long it lasted, and skills are short tags rather than sentences. The table lists every section with an example; the resume itself is written in Russian.
| Section | What to write | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name, date of birth | First and last name as in the passport, full date of birth | Bobur Nazarov, 14.06.1991 |
| Citizenship | Country name; both if you hold two | Uzbekistan |
| Work permit | Patent (region and validity), permit, or an honest «none yet, will obtain on arrival» | Patent, Moscow region, valid until 02.2027 |
| Willingness to relocate | Which city or region, readiness for rotation work | Ready to relocate to Moscow and the region, rotation possible |
| Desired position and salary | One specific position, net amount, schedule | Finishing crew foreman, 120,000 RUB net, full time |
| Work experience | Latest job first: period, company, city, position, 3-4 duties with results | 03.2025 - 08.2026, Otdelka-Profi LLC, Khimki |
| Education | Institution, field, graduation year; vocational college counts | Vocational College of Construction, Tashkent, 2010 |
| Key skills | 8-12 short tags: equipment, methods, software, licence categories | Plastering, drywall, tiling, reading drawings |
| Languages | Each language with a level; Russian at your real level | Russian - fluent, Uzbek - native |
| About me | 3-4 sentences: experience, specialisation, types of sites, why this job | Foreman with 9 years on residential sites |
Photo, personal details and contacts
A photo is optional in a Russian resume, but in manual trades it adds trust: plain background, head and shoulders, clean clothes, not a selfie. Date of birth and citizenship are stated - they are a normal part of the hh format, and leaving them out looks odd. Marital status, ethnicity, religion and information about parents or relatives do not belong in the resume: Russian employers do not ask for them.
- Phone: a Russian number first if you have one; write an Uzbek number with «+998» and note that it has Telegram or WhatsApp.
- Address: the city and region where you are now. If you are in Uzbekistan, say so and state your willingness to relocate on a separate line.
- Do not put your passport number, tax number, patent series or migration card details in the resume - they are requested during paperwork.
- Use a simple, serious email such as firstname.lastname; the hh profile is tied to your email or phone.
Typical mistakes made by candidates from Uzbekistan
- No citizenship and patent line. The employer looks for it first and, not finding it, moves on to the next candidate.
- A vague position: «any job», «builder/driver/loader» in one line. On hh one resume means one position; for two trades make two resumes.
- Experience described as «worked», without results: how many people you supervised, how many square metres you delivered, how many years without incidents.
- An inflated Russian level - it shows in the first minute of a phone call, and trust is gone.
- Salary missing or set at half the market rate - both raise suspicion; state an average figure for the region.
- The resume is in Uzbek, or translated word for word with Uzbek sentence structure.
- Gaps between jobs are not explained: return to Uzbekistan, family reasons, studies - one word is enough.
- A passport photo or a wedding picture instead of a proper photo.
How hiring works in Russia: patent, Avito, hh, organised recruitment
Russia is the largest destination for Uzbek workers: according to gazeta.uz (17.08.2026), 834 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan work there. Most of them find jobs through acquaintances, compatriot chats and Avito listings. This channel does not require a resume, but a one-page PDF sent after the phone call turns you from «another worker» into a specific tradesman with a clear track record, and in manual trades it often helps when negotiating pay. Companies, construction firms, warehouses and logistics operators search for candidates on hh - and there is no profile there without a resume.
Patent
A citizen of Uzbekistan who enters Russia visa-free obtains a work patent. Its cost depends on the region: in 2025 it ranged from 3,113 to 17,120 RUB per month. The patent requires an exam in Russian language, history and basics of law - it can also be taken in Uzbekistan - plus medical certificates, fingerprinting and a voluntary health insurance policy (DMS). State in the resume that you hold a patent, for which region and until when: for the employer this is a plus. If the patent was issued for another region, do not hide that either.
Organised recruitment
Organised recruitment goes only through the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan and licensed private employment agencies; on the Russian side it is the trudvsem.ru portal. No resume is requested in this channel: the candidate fills in a questionnaire, documents are sent via the agency, and the employer picks from a list. If someone asks for money «for a place» or promises to send you abroad under the guise of «consulting», that is not a licensed agency. Official vacancies are on xorijdaish.uz; the agency register is described in the Chet elga section.
Russian language and certificates
The resume is written in Russian - there is no alternative. An English version is needed only by international companies and IT employers. Describe your level in the simple words hh accepts: «fluent», «conversational», «basic». Put the certificate of the Russian exam taken for the patent in the «Certificates» section with the date: it is an official document that confirms your language skills.
Professional certificates - occupational safety, work at height, electrical safety, driving licence categories, welder grade - go on a separate line with the issuing organisation and year. A certificate obtained in Uzbekistan may not be recognised automatically in Russia; state «Uzbekistan» honestly and let the employer decide about retraining. Wording for other trades is in the resume examples section.
What to do with your diploma
For manual trades the diploma is one line in the resume: institution, field, year. A notarised translation is needed only if the employer asks for it. Engineers, doctors and teachers may need formal recognition of the diploma - clarify this with the employer in advance. Do not hide a vocational college diploma: it matters when you apply for a foreman position.
Preparing the resume in the builder
In the builder you fill in a regular resume in Uzbek or Russian for free. The «Chet elga» package converts it to the Russian format: an hh-style template, lines for citizenship, patent, relocation, salary and schedule, translation into Russian, AI proofreading and a Word file. The translation is done by artificial intelligence - not a notarised translation, so read the text yourself before sending. «Chet elga+» adds a cover letter and a second version in English. Kazakhstan uses the same format - the differences are on the Kazakhstan page.

Frequently asked questions
What documents does an Uzbek citizen need to work in Russia?
A foreign passport; for the patent - the Russian language exam certificate, medical certificates, fingerprinting and a DMS insurance policy; a diploma or trade certificate. A resume is not on the official list, but it is needed for direct contact with an employer and on hh. See the checklist on this page.
In which language should a resume for Russia be written?
In Russian. Nobody in Russia will read a resume in Uzbek, and an English one is needed only by international companies. In the builder you can type the text in Uzbek and translate it into Russian in the «Chet elga» package; the translation is done by artificial intelligence.
What should I write if I do not have a patent yet?
Be honest, in one line: no permit yet, patent will be obtained on arrival. On hh this is a required field, and the employer will see your documents anyway. If you have already passed the exam in Uzbekistan, list the certificate in the «Certificates» section.
Is a photo needed in a resume for Russia?
It is optional, but useful in manual trades: the foreman or site manager sees who they are talking to. A simple picture on a light background, head and shoulders, in clean clothes is enough. A resume without a photo will not be rejected either.
Do I need a resume for organised recruitment?
No. Organised recruitment goes through the Migration Agency and licensed agencies, with the trudvsem.ru portal on the Russian side: the candidate fills in a questionnaire and the employer picks from a list. The resume becomes useful later - when changing position or moving to another company.
What do I need to create a profile on hh?
A phone number or email, then the resume fields: citizenship and work permit are required. Copy your finished resume section by section: position, salary, experience, skills. One profile can hold several resumes - one per trade.
Does Resum.uz help find a job in Russia?
No. Resum.uz is a document preparation tool: it formats the resume the Russian way, translates it and produces PDF and Word files. We do not publish vacancies or connect you with employers. Official vacancies are on xorijdaish.uz and trudvsem.ru.
