Kazakhstan for Uzbek workers: the permit through egov.kz and an hh-style resume

A resume is needed when you join a company, a large farm or a warehouse and logistics operator - in Russian, in the hh style, with lines about citizenship and permit status. A resume for Kazakhstan: in Russian, in the hh style

Employers in Kazakhstan, like those in Russia, are used to hh-style resumes: the hh.kz site prints the same layout, and companies and recruiters judge candidates by it. Name and date of birth at the top, then the line «citizenship · work permit · willingness to relocate», the block «desired position and salary», work experience with the length of each job, education, skills as tags, languages and «about me». For a foreigner the permit line is especially important: whether the permit is obtained by you or arranged with the employer determines the employer's time and costs.

Photo, citizenship and the permit line

A photo is optional, but in agriculture, construction and services it lets the employer «see» you: light background, head and shoulders, clean clothes. Date of birth and citizenship are stated - a normal part of the format. The permit line must be honest: if you have no permit yet, write «none, ready to obtain». Kazakhstan has two routes: the permit to work for a private individual you obtain yourself, while hiring by a company is arranged together with the employer - say in one line which route you are ready for.

• Phone: a Kazakh number first if you have one; next to a «+998» number note that it has WhatsApp or Telegram.
• Address: the city where you are now. If you are in Uzbekistan, give the region and state your willingness to relocate on a separate line.
• If you already have an IIN, do not write the number itself - mark «IIN obtained»; the employer understands that paperwork will be faster.
• Passport number, permit number and bank details do not go in the resume - they are requested when the contract is signed.
• Marital status, ethnicity, religion and relatives are not needed - those belong to the Uzbek obyektivka form.

Typical mistakes made by candidates from Uzbekistan

• Nothing about the permit and IIN - the employer cannot tell how long paperwork will take and becomes wary.
• A generic position: «any job», «field worker/driver/builder» in one line. One resume - one position; make two resumes for two trades.
• No results in the experience: how many hectares, what yield, how many people supervised, which machinery - use numbers.
• Salary given in Uzbek som or another currency - Kazakhstan uses tenge; take the figure from listings in the region.
• An inflated Russian level; Kazakh listed as «known» with no ability to answer at the interview.
• The resume is in Uzbek or translated word for word, with Uzbek sentence structure.
• Gaps between seasonal jobs are not explained - «season ended, returned to Uzbekistan» is enough.
• A passport photo or a random picture from the field instead of a proper photo.

How hiring works in Kazakhstan: permit, IIN, company

Kazakhstan is the closest destination for Uzbek workers after Russia: according to gazeta.uz (17.08.2026), 84 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan work there. According to informburo, in 2024 the country issued 448 thousand work permits, and most of them were for work with private individuals: households, fields, construction, services. This permit is obtained by the worker in person - at a public service centre (TsON) or via egov.kz.

Permit to work for a private individual

The set: application, passport, IIN (also issued by TsON), medical certificate, fingerprinting and an advance payment of individual income tax (IPN). No resume is requested in this channel at all: the permit is issued to you, and the employer - a farmer, a homeowner, a private builder - is found through acquaintances. Still, after the phone call it does no harm to send a one-page resume in Russian: the farmer sees your experience, and agreeing terms for the season becomes easier.

Companies and farms

Limited liability companies (TOO), large farms, greenhouse complexes, warehouses and logistics operators select candidates by resume - through hh.kz-style sites, the company website or a recruiter. Here a resume is mandatory. Hiring a foreigner officially means extra formalities for the employer, so state your permit status and IIN clearly. If the offer came through an intermediary, check it in the register of the Migration Agency: a request to pay «for a place» is a sign of unlicensed activity. Language: Russian and Kazakh

The resume is written in Russian: most business communication in Kazakhstan is in Russian, and hh.kz works in Russian. Kazakh is not mandatory, but knowing it is an advantage: Uzbek and Kazakh are closely related, and many Uzbeks pick up spoken Kazakh quickly. State the level honestly: «basic», «conversational», «fluent». English is needed only by international companies and IT employers. No language certificate is required for Kazakhstan, but if you took a course or exam, list it under certificates.

Diploma and certificates

For an agronomist, veterinarian, machine operator or electrician the diploma or college certificate is the core of the resume: institution, field, year. A company may ask for a copy of the diploma and a Russian translation - order a notarised translation only if the employer requires it. Certificates - drip irrigation, plant protection, tractor operator licence, driving licence categories - go in a separate section with the issuing organisation and year. A certificate obtained in Uzbekistan may need confirmation in Kazakhstan - clarify this with the employer in advance. Wording for other trades is in the resume examples section.
