The CV is decisive on the Skilled Worker and Health and Care routes: the employer issues sponsorship on the strength of it, and it is written in the UK format - no photo, date of birth, marital status or nationality. This page covers both routes, the format, common mistakes and documents.
Two routes: the seasonal visa and Skilled Worker
In 2025 Uzbek citizens received 6,307 Seasonal Worker visas, with 99 percent of applications approved. The route works only through the Migration Agency: the candidate registers on xorijdaish.uz, while operators such as Pro-Force state «apply via migration.uz» and take no direct applications. Requirements: ages 18-50, basic Russian, no English, free of charge. Interest is enormous: in January 2025, 12,331 people registered in one day and around 3 million enquired (gazeta.uz, 20.01.2025). No CV on this route - selection is by form, interview and medical check.
The Skilled Worker and Health and Care visas work differently: a UK employer selects you first and issues a Certificate of Sponsorship, and the visa follows. Here the CV is the main filter, read by HR and often by an ATS. Which occupations qualify and what English level is required is published on gov.uk and changes - this page covers only the document rules.
UK CV format: sections
A British CV is A4, up to two pages, single column. Name and contacts at the top, then a 3-4 line personal statement, experience in reverse order, education, skills, certifications, languages and «References available on request». Dates as DD/MM/YYYY or «Jan 2024 – Present», British spelling: organised, licence, centre.
| Section | What to write | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Header and contacts | Name, target job title, phone, email, city and country; LinkedIn if any | Bobur Nazarov - IT Support Specialist - Tashkent, Uzbekistan |
| Personal Statement | 3-4 lines: who, how many years, what environment, what you seek | IT support specialist with 6 years of 1st and 2nd line experience for 350+ users |
| Work Experience | Title, company, city, dates; 3-5 bullet points per job with results and numbers | IT Support Specialist, Bahor Retail Group, Tashkent - Apr 2022 – Present |
| Education | Degree, institution, years; UK equivalent in brackets if needed | BSc Computer Engineering, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, 2015 – 2019 |
| Skills | Technical and soft skills separately, using the words from the advertisement | Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, ITIL processes |
| Certifications | Professional certificates with issuer and year | CompTIA A+, 2021; ITIL 4 Foundation, 2024 |
| Languages | Language and level; for English, the exam name and score | English - IELTS 6.5, Russian - Fluent, Uzbek - Native |
| Right to work | Honest: do you need visa sponsorship or hold the right to work | Requires Skilled Worker visa sponsorship |
| References | No names, just the standard line | References available on request |
How to write the personal statement
The most-read part of the CV: 3-4 lines without «I». Formula: who (trade and years) + where and at what scale (users, systems, results) + what you seek. Example: «IT support specialist with 6 years of 1st and 2nd line experience for 350+ users in retail and healthcare. Windows, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory administration, ITIL-based ticketing. Seeking a service desk role with a UK employer able to sponsor a Skilled Worker visa.»
Photo, date of birth and personal details: what is left out
In the UK an employer must not judge a candidate by age, sex, marital status or nationality, so none of that appears on the CV: no photo, no date of birth or age, no marital status or nationality. This is the opposite of practice in the Gulf and Germany - one CV cannot serve every country.
- Photo: none. The UK template in the builder does not print it even if one is in the form.
- Date of birth and age: none; the years of study give a rough idea.
- Nationality: not stated, but the Right to work line must be honest: «Requires Skilled Worker visa sponsorship». Hiding it wastes time on both sides and costs you trust.
- Address: city and country are enough; no street or house number.
- Phone in international format; a serious email address; LinkedIn link if any.
- Passport number, parents, religion, health - never.
Typical mistakes made by applicants from Uzbekistan
- Sending a CV for the seasonal visa, or paying an intermediary to «prepare» one: the CV plays no part on that route; registration is only on xorijdaish.uz.
- A CV with a photo and date of birth: HR may set it aside as an equality risk for the company.
- American spelling and terms: organized, license, resume. In Britain it is organised, licence, CV.
- Hiding the sponsorship question: an employer without a licence cannot hire you anyway; an honest line saves both sides time.
- Generic words instead of duties: «hard-working, responsible». British employers expect results and numbers: users supported, ticket volume, resolution time.
- A CV longer than two pages listing every course: two pages is the limit.
- English level without a score: Skilled Worker requires proof of English, so give the exam name and score.
How hiring works: the seasonal scheme and sponsoring employers
The seasonal route is official only: announcements come via the Migration Agency and xorijdaish.uz, registration is free, the operator runs the selection. Any intermediary posting «seasonal work in England, pay for the place» is acting against Uzbek law: consulting disguised as job placement carries a fine of 112.5 million soum (spot.uz, 08.2025). Check an agency via the Migration Agency helpline +998 71 202-33-55.
For Skilled Worker the employer must hold a sponsor licence; the list is published on gov.uk. Applications go direct: company websites, LinkedIn, NHS Jobs for healthcare, recruitment agencies. The CV and a short cover letter are the main documents; interviews are usually by video. Other destinations are compared in the Chet elga section: the German Lebenslauf, for instance, carries a photo and date of birth - the opposite of the UK format.
Resum.uz is a document preparation tool: we help with the CV and the letter, we publish no vacancies and promise no visa or job.
Language and certificates
The seasonal visa requires no English; basic Russian is enough. For Skilled Worker and Health and Care, English is proved formally: the exam and level are set by the current gov.uk rules, and the CV should give the exam name and score (for example, IELTS 6.5). Russian rarely matters to a British employer, but listing it is harmless.
Professional certificates carry weight in Britain: CompTIA, Microsoft and ITIL for IT; first aid and care courses for the care sector; safety certificates for technical trades. Write the name in the original, with issuer and year. Examples for other professions are in the resume examples section.
Degree and documents
For Skilled Worker the degree depends on the employer: many IT roles value experience and certificates more; healthcare and regulated professions need the degree compared with its UK equivalent. The visa document list is on gov.uk and changes; the main items are below.
- Certificate of Sponsorship - issued by the employer, never sold.
- Passport - valid for the whole visa period.
- Proof of English - the exam certificate specified on gov.uk.
- Degree and certificates with English translations - as requested by the employer.
- Other requirements (financial evidence, medical check, references) - per the current gov.uk list.
For the seasonal visa the operator and the Migration Agency collect the documents - passport, form, medical check - and charge the candidate nothing. Nobody should ask you for money for a «place» or sponsorship.
Building the CV in the resume builder
Fill in a standard resume for free in the builder, then switch to «Chet elga» mode and choose the United Kingdom: the template leaves out the photo, date of birth, marital status and nationality, adds the Right to work and Availability lines and ends with «References available on request». The «Chet elga» package translates the CV into English with AI (this is not a certified translation), proofreads it in British spelling and exports a Word file; «Chet elga+» adds a cover letter and a Russian version. Reread the translation: job titles must match the advertisement.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a CV for seasonal work in the UK?
No. Seasonal Worker candidates are registered only by the Migration Agency and xorijdaish.uz; selection is by form, interview and medical check. Operators take no direct applications, and paying an intermediary to «prepare a CV» is money lost.
How do Uzbek citizens register for the Seasonal Worker visa?
Only through xorijdaish.uz, free of charge. Requirements: ages 18-50, basic Russian, no English. In 2025, 6,307 visas were issued and 99 percent of applications approved; demand is very high when registration opens (gazeta.uz, 20.01.2025). Watch migration.uz and xorijdaish.uz for the next season.
What does a UK CV look like?
A4, up to two pages, single column: name and contacts, a 3-4 line personal statement, experience in reverse order with results and numbers, education, skills, certifications, languages and «References available on request». No photo, date of birth, marital status or nationality; British spelling.
Should a UK CV have a photo?
No. In Britain the photo, date of birth, marital status and nationality are left off the CV - employers must not judge candidates by them. The UK template in the builder prints no photo.
What is needed for a Skilled Worker visa in 2026?
A UK employer with a sponsor licence, its Certificate of Sponsorship, proof of English to the gov.uk standard and the other documents on the official list. Eligible occupations and conditions change - check the current rules on gov.uk. On this route the CV is the first filter.
Should I say on the CV that I need visa sponsorship?
Yes, honestly, in the Right to work line: «Requires Skilled Worker visa sponsorship». An employer without a licence cannot hire you anyway; one with a licence wants to know in advance. Staying silent undermines trust.
Does Resum.uz place workers in the UK?
No. Resum.uz is a document preparation tool: CV, translation and cover letter. The seasonal scheme runs only through the Migration Agency (xorijdaish.uz); for Skilled Worker you find the employer yourself. The translation is by AI, not a certified translation.
